Believe Academy exists to give hope, opportunity, and justice to the children’s community of San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua. We do this by providing various opportunities to children who are almost completely devoid of opportunities. In a country that strips hope from its people, Jesus Christ makes those children Believe!

Our program opportunities include English class, art class, music class, basketball program, martial arts class, cooking class, female empowerment, teen club, and much more.

Thank you to Reality SF for helping make the impossible, possible.

In a community with no other organizations providing children’s programming, Believe Academy is making a significant impact. We anticipate 10,000 child interactions in 2024.

We would love to connect with you! And even more, we would love to hear how you might want to participate with us. Maybe you would like to come visit us in beautiful Nicaragua and help with our classes and programs. We have a schedule of events that we follow every single week. You can help in any one of our existing classes; we have English class, art class, basketball, music, cooking, taekwondo, girls club, teen club, running club and more. Send us a note using the form to the left and we can Believe together!

  • My wife and I had the opportunity to visit San Juan Del Sur last November, along with my 2 daughters. We knew our 2 year old (Palmer) would have an absolute blast in the ocean. And she did! And our 5 month old baby (Baby Reese) was well… a baby! She was a little backpack trooper, wide eyed to sights and sounds of town. And also a big fan of the beach! We ALL were amazed by the beaches. A little different than Blackfalds, Alberta Canada. They ranked among the nicest beaches me or my wife have ever seen, and without a doubt top the list of least busy. We came for a holiday of course, but we were also able to spend a little time volunteering at Believe Academy. There were so many different opportunities to serve. I had a bit of previous coaching experience and was able to help out with the start up of a U16 boys basketball team! My wife found it easy to jump in with girls club, and Palmer loved getting in there with the local kids every thrusday for art class! And baby Reese learned Spanish from the kids ogling above her car seat! Jk. But in all seriousness, Believe Academy is an amazing place. Kids come from all over to get involved in all kinds of programs they wouldn’t otherwise have. Andy is a one of a kind mentor, and person that the kids respect and adore, as does my family after he welcomed us to get our hands dirty with beach cleanups and all kinds of activities. If you’re passionate about working with kids and don’t mind great beaches I would recommend a trip to San Juan to anyone… Knowing Spanish would make the trip that much better, however my family didn’t and we managed. Baby Reese was also on a feeding tube and a full body harness for other complications at the time… so if we did it… you have no excuse!
